Dental Insurance
Please bring your insurance information with you to your initial appointment. We will happily submit the claim electronically on your behalf and claim payment will be returned directly to the insured, as we do not accept assignment at our office.  With electronic claims processing, the insured will often receive payment from the insurance company within three to five business days.

About your dental insurance.

If you are lucky enough to have dental insurance to assist you in maintaining your teeth, it is important for you to understand a couple of things.

Your dental benefits are determined by your employer. They negotiate with the insurance company to receive the best coverage possible for you, based on the premiums they can afford to pay.  Keep in mind that unfortunately the insurance company does not care about what dental treatment you need. So….

•   Dr. Julie will recommend treatment for you based on her clinical findings, not on what your
    insurance covers.
•   If you have a yearly maximum, and haven’t used any of it for 2 or 3 years, and then come see
us and have work to do that exceeds your maximum, the insurance company won’t take
into account that you went for 2 or 3 years without costing them any money. They will only pay
the yearly maximum. So it is in your best interest to see us yearly, and keep up with your dental
work to take advantage of the coverage you have.

What does my insurance cover?

Due to the fact that each company negotiates its own coverage for its employees, there are hundreds of dental plans out there.  Therefore it is impossible for us to know everyone’s coverage. We often find that even within the same company, salaried employees may have different coverage than hourly employees etc. It is your responsibility to be familiar with the terms of your dental plan and any maximums or limitations it may have. If you have questions regarding your plan, or are unsure of your coverage, please check your employee's benefit booklet, or contact your employee benefit's office or union. Due to privacy regulations, insurance companies will not divulge your coverage details with us.  If you have any questions or concerns, we will do our best to help.

What information do you need regarding my insurance coverage?

Please bring your insurance information with you to your first appointment. The following is the information we need to be able to submit your claims electronically:

•  The company's name/employer's name who provides you with the insurance
•  The name of the insurance company
•  The subscriber's first and last name and birthdate
•  The group or policy number
•  The certificate number.

If you have secondary insurance coverage, please bring the information for both plans.

If you have an employee benefit's booklet, it is helpful to bring that to your first appointment and we will be able to better answer any questions you may have about your coverage.  We are here to help.
